The Tech-a-Day Program: How It Can Work for You

Introducing the Tech-a-Day Program
Tech-a-Day is a proactive support program intended to ease the burden of your overloaded team. Under this program, we’ll send the same engineer to your company as often as you choose (once a week, biweekly, monthly, etc.) to perform any number of IT tasks. Most commonly, our engineers perform ongoing health checks of your servers and networks, but we have team members who specialize in the maintenance and development of a variety of software and hardware.
Our goal is to become an extension of your IT team; we want to support your organization’s IT needs so your team can focus on accomplishing its assigned projects.
A Typical Day in the Life of a Tech-a-Day Engineer
We’ll work with you to find the best engineer for your IT needs. From there, our engineer will visit your company on scheduled days (or weeks, or months) to complete their expected list of tasks, which can include (but is not limited to):
- Server patching
- Server backups
- Virtual infrastructure review
- Storage health checks
- Switching and border protection firmware
- Documentation and change management
At any time during our contract, you’re more than welcome to adjust the number of visits you want your dedicated engineer to perform.
Outsourcing vs. Hiring Internally
Especially if you’re hoping for an engineer to come on site to work weekly, you may be wondering what the advantage is to outsourcing this help instead of hiring a new staff member internally. There are a few reasons, the most compelling of which is that outsourcing IT services is the least expensive way to get an engineer on site for eight hours a day. Furthermore, the flexibility of the Tech-a-Day contract allows you to accommodate weeks of heavy workload and then scale back to fewer visits without incurring any sort of financial penalty.
